Accidentally Entertaining

We're starting to have quite the library of Dark Souls and Bloodborne Hitless Tournament VODs and highlights---five tournaments now, tons of matches, and some of the best moments in Dark Souls content!

High quality, produced content is what I'm really passionate about. It's why I don't usually just jump on Twitch anymore and casually play games. I want everything that I'm doing to be the absolute best it can be, and the hitless tournaments are an example of that.

This content creator space is hard, and it's difficult to differentiate yourself from others. I've spent years now trying to do that, and I am finally at a point where I can say I'm doing something different, fun, entertaining, and really good. I don't stare at the view count anymore. On my last youtube channel, which I deleted in a fit of baby rage (lol) after quitting Twitch earlier this year, I had tens of thousands of views on videos that honestly were low quality. But they were search optimized and answered simple questions that people wanted to know. My strategy this time is simple: continue to answer questions and provide content that people want, but make sure it's something I'm actually proud of. I'm incredibly proud of the quality in the hitless tournaments, and I'm working on other high quality (solo) projects that will be of equal quality, or hey...maybe even better!

One of the biggest things that you can do to support me is subscribe to my youtube channel at youtube.com/c/McRaptor and share these videos on social networks! It really helps expand the reach of the tournaments and other original works.

I hope you've been enjoying the tournaments, and I look forward to providing you with even more exciting content that is, as always, accidentally entertaining.

OH YEAH---the next hitless tournament is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 2-4. It's going to include all five souls games, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne. Ten amazing runners competing on two separate teams. Guts, glory, glitter, crazy stuff. Yeah, it's going to be kind of a big deal...so, check it out!

    • No quit outs/glitches/out-of-bounds.
    • Environmental damage from swamps (e.g. poison) do not count as hits.

Immortal: Unchained (the new Souls like game with guns) Seems Really Solid So Far!

Really liking this game so far. Combat is fun, gunplay is solid overall, and the weapon/enemy variety works! Boss variety is a little lacking so far, but I'm only a few bosses in. If you missed our live stream of the first couple of hours, or want to see some boss tutorials, checking out the playlist on youtube:

ExtraLife Charity Drive During Dark Souls Hitless Tournament

We're raising money for sick children during the hitless tournament this weekend! Any donation amount is generously appreciated. Just follow the link below!

The hospital we're supporting is the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. It was recently in the news when a child being treated at the hospital, and waiting on a transplant, wished to have a visit from Drake. He ended up visiting her in the hospital, and just a few days later, she was able to get her heart transplant.

Amazing story, and the kind of thing that we want to support. More info on the story here:

    BRACKET

Surprise Upsets, Tense Final Rounds, and Questioning the Validity of McRaptor Predictions

Last week's Bloodborne tournament was amazing to cast. There were so many surprise upsets and tense final rounds. If anyone at the beginning of the tournament would have said that VikingBarudda, after a rough start, would make it to the finals and force a sudden death match with Squillakilla you'd say they were nuts. But that's exactly what happened.

After getting knocked down to the lower bracket, Viking went 5-0 through JoeDD, FaraazKhan (aka "Cannon strats"), DonnyRekt, Kwitty23, and his first match against Squillakilla. Like what?? But it probably wasn't a surprise if you've been a fan of Viking for awhile. He adjusted his strats after the early loss and went slow and steady throughout the rest of the tournament.

In his final match, with everything on the line, Shadows of Yharnam fired three fireballs, all of which appeared to connect with him (https://clips.twitch.tv/HonorableGenerousGuanacoVoHiYo). On the commentary cast, FaraazKhan, DonnyRekt, and I all analyzed the hits and determined it was only two (vs. three), but it showed how tense and close these matches can get. It was the first time in a hitless tournament that we used instant replay on the cast, and it really added to the overall esports nature of the event.

Squillakilla went on to win the second match in the grand finals, securing that #1 spot. VikingBarudda and Kwitty23 placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Each of them scored a share of the $550 prize pool, which was raised through the generous support of our viewers.

If you somehow missed some of these amazing matches, we've got the winners/lower bracket finals and grand finals matches right here. We've also got a full playlist of the tournament, which includes all commentary casts: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMDp4qDJxcZx84u1iXrwP5YdzqjM22Toq.

Hope you guys enjoyed the tournament as much as we did.

Bloodborne Hitless Tournament Grand Finals Sunday at 12 pm EST!

Let me tell you guys, it has been one HELL of a week in this tournament. Upsets, underdogs, double digit hit memes, broken dreams, butt clenching moments, crazy commentary, prison wallets, and kek sneks (and that was just yesterday).

Tomorrow, we're back to where we started. Players fighting for that #1 spot, for all the glory and that sweet prize pool. By the way, thanks to your amazing support, we're up to nearly $300!

At 12 pm EST, Squillakilla matches up against Vikingbarudda. Will Viking achieve the impossible and make the biggest comeback in Bloodborne Hitless Tournament history? Or will the 3-time hitless tournament finalist take his second hitless title?

    Let's find out together! Twitch.tv/McRapt0r
